changes and challenges
- my original idea of having a black background dint work so i changed it to white, this didnt work either because it didnt look grungy enough and that was what i wanted to create. i ended up using a picture of crumpled paper and darkening it this worked really well for my front cover. Also wasnt going to have any other pictures on the front but of the main band, but it looked to simple and not as interesting, so i used three other picture as free posters i really liked this because it made i look more attarctive and appealing to my target audience.
- firstly i wanted my contents page white as i thought it would contrast well with my model being all in black, but i changed this and used a blurred imaged of the crumpled picture and made it a lighter colour this worked reall well as it kept the flow as a rock magazine.
- for my feature story i setteled for a black background and had the writing in black and red to make it really stand out this did work well, i also added in some text grabs and i made them yellow as this contrasted really well and stuck out (they are very eye catching).
The main challenge i had to over come was the pictures because i wanted some of the hair that was out of place in my picture and having a dark background really showed the bits of white background. i over came this by taking the picture back in to photoshop and using a magic eraser to help the picture not lose some of the highlights, but smooth them down to not show attention.

name questionnaire
1) what colour scheme would you chose for a girl rock band?
- black = 1
- black & red = 2
- black & white = 2
- Fallen Angels = 3
- Angelic = 0
- Scarlet = 2
- up coming tour = 0
- new album = 5
- life on the road = 0
this has helped me chose not only what i am going to call my band but also the colour scheme and what feature article is about.
moodboard
All these pictures relate to the rock genre, as you can see most is in black, but I do like the idea of adding a bit of colour (red). In the picture of the band you can see they all try to look a little masculine in order to fit into the idea of what we usually expect in rock, I want to adapt this but I don’t want to make my model look masculine I think they should show the girl inside them, but sticking to the other aspects of this genre.
Phoenix is the word, For the Fallen Angels!
Yes people, Phoenix is the name for the new album by Fallen Angels which will be on sale in just under a month. The Fallen Angels are more than thrilled to be releasing another hot album. As I sat down to talk about this with the band I could see how much they believed in the album. It was great to hear about the amount of time and effort that had been put into this and how much they hope it pays off.
We haven’t heard from the Fallen Angels in over three years, questions arose about what the band was doing? And would they ever return? Last thing that was made clear by the band was that they were unhappy with the lack of creative control they had with their record company, but things have changed people, it seems that they are now in full control of their music because drummer Amy Macpherson’s dad James has his own recording studio and although she worried about the effect of working so closely with.
her dad, it seems to have paid off.
The album itself is made up of a range of rock and metal, but definitely doesn’t change what the girls are about. They said “it feels good to be creating new music, we feel closer than ever and we definitely are still about the music.” Will this be the biggest album ever for these girls? Well fans, the truth is up to you now; it seems the sound hasn’t changed much, but the focus of the girls in their attitude of what makes music great has definitely changed. Apparently there aren’t any plans at the moment for touring, but they are sure that this will change. Don’t worry though fans; it seems that even though touring isn’t happening at the moment, the girls are planning on performing at their local bars and old hang outs sometime in March so keep your eyes out for that.
When I asked them about what the inspiration was that had created this album, lead singer Amber was more than
happy to share the real reason behind this album was in fact her two year relationship
with Ryan Barrow had fallen through. “He didn’t get how important this band is to me, I know it’s not all his fault, but I needed to focus on my music and unfortunately that came between us.” The fact is though is that in this line of work sacrifices have to be made. The girls made it very clear that no matter what goes on their love for creating music won’t disappear.
So I guess what you want to know then is how is this album different from their others, well where do I begin. There seems to be a great amount of mixture in the music, not only have they experienced the thrill of rock, but apparently this just isn’t satisfying enough. They want to expand their sound into different types of metal.
Well it is made clear the Fallen Angels are here to stay. “This album is only the beginning of our comeback; wait till you see what we have in store.”

media theory
Project Phoenix is basically an on-line advertising site which helps design certain advertising site which helps design certain advertisements (this could help gain my audiences interest). Using this along with Psychographic profiling is very interesting. If I want to make my target audience aware by advertising my product on websites that my target audience is most likely to use. I want to interest the Demographic of people who listen to rock music.

download to 40 (popular music genres)
The most popular genres nowadays are R&B and pop, yes there are other genres in EG. pop/rock by famous singers such as ''PINK''. but this doesn't seem to be effecting the rising of R&B/ pop as it keeps getting more and more popular.
